Five for Friday! First time :)

Well I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for my very first Linky Party! OK so here goes...
This week has been our spring break. I've been spending time at my parents prepping for my upcoming wedding!!(77 days, but who's counting :) This has been my week long project:

all invites stuffed, stamped, and hand addressed ready to be dropped at the post office tomorrow :)


This game has taken over my life....haha but seriously I have become a bit obsessed with it I'm ashamed to admit

I have been training for my next 5k race to be run Memorial Day my goal is to beat my previous 5k times and with my most recent run I've done it! Give it a few more weeks and I think I'll do even better!

Another thing I am slightly obsessed with is my dog! Champ is about 4/5 years old, we rescued him and he is just the funniest little cocker spaniel ever, but he has a HUGE attitude! He was so tired he was falling asleep with his head up!

And my last random for the night is one of my more recent Pinterest finds that I just can't wait to try out tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Precious moment!

Oh my goodness today was a moment we all live for. One of my little friends was a very struggling reader at the beginning of the year she has made some wonderful gains with extra help from our wonderful reading specialist and now she is a great reader! Today she asked if she could read a story to the class. Her choice was froggy gets dressed. She was amazing!! She even stopped and asked questions and clarified for everyone what was going on! How adorable. Teacher in training!:)

Well hello again everyone! I told you all I wasn't very good at keeping up with this! haha but I am trying my best :0 

It has been a very very long week.  We have been working hard on so many different things. We are currently working on blends and long a using that tricky silent e, ai, and ay! We will use these vowel digraphs next week in our daily 5 word work center.  


In math we are working on our doubles facts and doubles plus 1.  Doubles we are catching onto fast but adding that plus one has really thrown some of us off! 

Oh and did I mention that I am getting married in 90 days! Yes 90 days!! Our date just happens to be the last day of school...ooops :0 so as the school year is starting to come to a close my wedding is approaching so quickly and I can't wait!! I'll be sure to blog all about especially my dress which I am SUPER excited for but cant post any pictures of that just yet ;) so instead here are my AHmazing (if I do say so myself) wedding shoes :)

So not super educational today but I promise some pictures of our Dr. You Know Who schoolwide door contest that went on last week for Read Across America! Ok I'm off to indulge in some trashy tv (aka teen mom 2) I know its shameful but I just can't help myself;)

Week in review

Phew... What a long week it was valentines day turned my kiddos crayzy! They were just so excited to pass out those valentines and eat cupcakes they could barely contain themselves til 2:30. We made "I'm bananas for___ monkeys" this week that turned out adorAble. Ill post them Tuesday since I forgo to take a picture before I left school.

A big thanks to Pinterest for these cute valentines I sent home with my kids.

Enjoy the three day weekend! I know I have been. Ill be busy working on my centers for this week Monday while catching up on all my dvr'd shows :)

Snow paint!

Yesterday afternoon my firsties and I had some fun! We have been learning about clouds all week and for a fun Friday event we read the book It Looked Like Spilled Milk. We then talked about different things clouds could look like. They chose their design and got to drawing while I whipped up some "snow paint" (shaving cream and school glue). Then we got to painting our designs. Sooo much fun! Check out some of my artists :) have a great rest of the weekend!! Next week starts our unit on seasons should be a good time!

Back in November my kids did Cara Carroll's president mini unit! They loved it check them out with their adorable voter registration cards! They voted me as their president :) too cute

Getting ready for the new year!

I can't believe it's almost 2013!! I'm working on being a regular blogger and getting my teacherspayteachers store up and running. It's going to be a busy year but I know it's worth it in the end! I found this picture to be the perfect motivation for the new year ;)
